This year’s Open Day is on Sunday April 9th. This is a major opportunity to publicise the club, to make the local community aware of our activities and to demonstrate our sport to potential new members. Do also invite any friends, colleagues or family who could be interested to come along and see what it’s all about. We have a team who will run the day’s activities but we always need more members to welcome and chat to visitors, answering their questions and explaining the great things that CGC has to offer. So, if you can, please come out and help on the day.
Women’s Day will be Sunday June 25th and Youth Day on Sunday July 30th. Both events are intended to raise awareness of gliding. Visitors will be introduced to the club and offered trial flights, and the BGA simulator will be on-site too.
Courses are also a very effective way to introduce the public to gliding. This year we will be running an extra 5-day courses to provide a total of seven courses this summer. And, new this year, are our 3-day weekend courses aimed at those who find it difficult to devote a whole week to trying a new sport. We will run three of these, each running from Friday through to the Sunday. Course dates are in the calendar.
