Dear All,
Although the club has a Bedfordshire postal address, the airfield is situated in South Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire, both of which remain in Tier 2.
General guidelines
The club plans to continue to operate under tier 2 rules in the same way as we have been over the past weeks, and which is described on the home page of our web site and at COVID-19 Biosecurity Protocols
- Further information on tier 2 rules can be found here
- In particular, we remind members that the club house is open only for the use of indoor training facilities and the toilets, and is not to be used for socialising, as laid out in our previous announcement.
- Whilst the workshop remains open, please ensure that you keep the workshop well ventilated, and wear masks if you are unable to keep 2 metres apart.
Work and volunteering
Government guidelines state that people from Tier 3: Very High alert and Tier 4: Stay at Home areas can continue to work or volunteer. However the club respects and supports the choice of anyone who chooses not to do so. Please let the office know at office@camgliding.uk if you are unable to cover a rostered duty coming up in the next few weeks.
Flying activities
People living in tier 4 “can leave home for education (formal provision, rather than extracurricular classes such as music or drama tuition, or out of school settings)”. They should therefore not come out to fly at the club.
People in tiers 2 and 3 may continue to come out and fly at the club.
Looking ahead
These are exceptional times. We continue to follow government guidelines to reduce transmission of coronavirus on site, and ask all members and visitors to the club to do the same.
In the meantime, we wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and look forwards to a gradual return to normality and a Happy and Healthy New Year.
Kind regards,
Pete Joslin
Chairman, Cambridge Gliding Centre.
