We are looking back on CUGC member achievements from summer 2025 onwards, including competitions!
Huge congratulations to CC, Edgar and Kate for going solo! Extra kudos and congrats to Kate who also converted to the Junior.
Well done to Yiyang for receiving his bronze and cross-country endorsements and thereby qualifying for his SPL! On top of all that, Yiyang recently obtained his TMG rating.
We are also celebrating Ilya, who achieved all three parts of his silver badge in one flight, and CC and Chenxuan for achieving their silver heights!
We are extremely grateful to CGC instructors for helping us reach these milestones.
Additionally, several CUGC members were involved in the Cambridge Cloud Rally hosted by CGC from 9th-16th August 2025. This competition allows pilots of all levels of experience to participate.
Congratulations to CUGC members CC, Darren and Adam who were part of the winning team in the funster class flying in the two-seater PZ with David Tew! Many congratulations to CC for coming fourth in the TYRO class! Well done all!
CC also organised an experimental ink workshop during the Cloud Rally. You can read all about it here: https://www.camgliding.uk/ccs-experimental-ink-workshops/13199/
Finally, CUGC Co-president Luise had a great week flying the UK Junior Nationals at Aston Down from 16th-24th August. There were an impressive seven flying days with her longest flight being over 250km!
Thank you to Cotswold Gliding Competitions for organising.
